Proguanil
Rapid test for in vitro detection of Proguanil in urine.
Proguanil and Mefloquine are two different anti-malarial drugs which are recognized as being effective in malaria chemoprophylaxis.
Coris BioConcept has developed rapid test in vitro detection of Proguanil or Mefloquine.
Like some other drug detection tests in urine, the test is based on competition. It means that the test reading is opposite to other Coris BioConcept's tests: absence of signal on test line indicates the presence of drugs in urine.

Performances
A first evaluation has been conducted in France on a panel of 54 clinical samples by using HPLC method as reference. There is a 100% concordance of the Proguanil-Strip with HPLC assay for detection of Proguanil. The detection limit of Proguanil ranges from 20 to 80ng/mL.
