Mefloquine
Rapid test for in vitro detection of Mefloquine in urine.
Proguanil and Mefloquine are two different anti-malarial drugs which are recognized as being effective in malaria chemoprophylaxis.
Coris BioConcept has developed rapid test in vitro detection of Proguanil or Mefloquine.
Like some other drug detection tests in urine, the test is based on competition. It means that the test reading is opposite to other Coris BioConcept's tests: absence of signal on test line indicates the presence of drugs in urine.

Performances
An evaluation has been conducted in two countries on a panel of 80 individuals after intake of standard adult dose of Mefloquine for chemoprophylaxis.
Mefloquine was detected in 100% of urine specimens with the Mefloquine-Strip test.
The detection limit of Mefloquine ranges from 1 to 5 µg/mL.
