Company History

30/10/1996

Coris BioConcept was founded in October 1996 by two biologists, of which Thierry LECLIPTEUX (CEO & Scientific Director), and two other investors with the aim to provide a global service in the diagnostic field. Immunochromatography was the technology of choice to reach the goal of rapid, accurate and easy assays.

08/1997

Coris BioConcept launches its first product, the Rota-Strip kit to detect Rotavirus in stool specimens with the first sales in Belgium and UK.

11/1997

Coris BioConcept launches the Adeno-Strip kit to detect Adenovirus in stool specimens with distributions in Belgium, United Kingdom, Italy and Ireland.

02/1998

Coris BioConcept launches the Combi-Strip to detect both Rotavirus and Adenovirus in stool specimens on the same strip.

10/1999

Coris BioConcept launches the 40/41 Adeno-Strip kit to detect Adenovirus 40 and 41 in stool specimens.

New markets: Spain, Chile and Brazil.

01/2000

Coris BioConcept hires the first three employees for Research & Development, Production and Quality Assurance.

The company launches the Crypto-Strip to detect Cryptosporidium in stool specimens.

Coris BioConcept enters the following markets: France, Germany, Austria, Norway, Greece, Portugal, Egypt, Israel, Lebanon, Argentina, Uruguay, Korea and Vietnam.

06/2001

The company obtains the ISO 9001 certification.

10/2001

Coris BioConcept expands its activities and moves to the Science Park CREALYS in Gembloux in a 84 m2 area

The company receives the “Talentis Prize” for the best “Starter 2001”.

Coris BioConcept sells now in The Netherlands, Finland, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Australia.

02/2002

The company launches the RSV Respi-Strip to detect Respiratory Syncytial Virus in nasopharyngeal specimens.

03/2002

Coris BioConcept receives the “Grand Prix à l’Exportation” (General Export Price) – Mention “ Jeune à l’Exportation” (Young Exportation) from the Walloon Export Agency (AWEX).

The Company has now 10 collaborators and is present in Switzerland, Turkey, New Zealand, Denmark, Sweden, Slovakia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Singapore and South Africa.

01/2003

Coris BioConcept launches 2 new kits:

  • Adeno Respi-Strip to detect Respiratory Adenovirus in nasopharyngeal specimens
  • Influ-A Respi-Strip to detect Influenza A virus in nasopharyngeal specimens

08/2003

The company obtains the ISO 13485:2003 certification.

09/2003

Coris BioConcept launches the “Uni-Strip” range intended to small labs, doctor’s offices and emergency centres

10/2003

The company launches the O157 Coli-Strip to detect Escherichia coli O157 in stool specimens

11/2003

Coris BioConcept launches a Veterinary range of products to detect Rotavirus, Coronavirus, Escherichia coli K99 and Cryptosporidium in bovine stool specimens.

 

The company is now present in Malaysia, Poland, Japan, Canada, Mexico and Iran.

05/2004

The company files a patent for  “oligochromatography” technology.

10/2004

Coris BioConcept receives the “Prix Wallonie à l’Exportation” (Walloon Export Prize) from the Walloon Export Agency.

11/2004

Coris BioConcept registers a patent for a 2-sided stick.

Coris BioConcept enters Estonia, Guatemala, Lithuania and Venezuela, and hires 3 additional persons.

01/2005

The company expands its activities and moves to a bigger place in the Science Park CREALYS in Gembloux in a 600 sqm2 facility.

16 persons collaborate now to the project.

Coris BioConcept launches the Influ-A&B Respi-Strip to detect both Influenza A and B viruses in nasopharyngeal specimens.

11/2005

The company receives “The Best SME” Award 2005 from the Belgian-Luxemburg Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain.

Coris BioConcept launches a new Website with an Extranet intended to the customers.

12/2005

The company applies for a patent: PCT/EP 2005/013159

01/2006

Coris BioConcept launches the Toxo Oligo-Strip to detect Toxoplasma gondii.

The company receives an award for the “Namurois de l’année/of the year”.

03/2006

Coris BioConcept launches the GastroVir-Strip to detect both Rotavirus and enteric Adenovirus specific for group F strains in stool specimens.

03/2007

Coris BioConcept sets up a new device named GDT (Gravity Driven TesT).
The company processes the Legionella test to GDT.

12/2007

The company launches the Crypto/Giardia Duo-Strip to detect both Cryptosporidium and Giardia on the same strip.

06 and 07/2008

Coris BioConcept launches 3 new kits:

  • the Pylori-Strip to detect Helicobacter pylori in stool specimens
  • the Leishmania OligoC-TesT to detect Leishmania with the oligochromatographic technology
  • the T. cruzi OligoC-TesT to detect Trypanosoma cruzi with the oligochromatographic technology

2009

Coris BioConcept launches the Legionella V-TesT to detect Legionella pneumophila antigen in urine.

2010

Coris BioConcept launches a cassette range. The first products to be launched are:

  • the RSV K-SeT to detect Respiratory Syncytial Virus in nasopharyngeal specimens
  • the Combi K-SeT to detect Rotavirus and Adenovirus in stool specimens

01/2011

Coris BioConcept joins the Halal Club from AWEX showing its willingness to understand people philosophy and way of life, from different cultures

02/2011

The company launches 3 new cassette kits:

  • the Adeno Respi K-SeT to detect Respiratory Adenovirus in nasopharyngeal specimens
  • the Influ-A K-SeT to detect Influenza A virus in nasopharyngeal specimens
  • the Giardia K-SeT to detect Giardia in stool specimens

02/2012

A new product is developed:

The Clostridium K-SeT detects Clostridium difficile antigen in stool specimens

04/2012

Coris BioConcept launches its new E-labeling service

03/2013

We developed two rapid diagnostic tests for trypanosomiasis caused by T. brucei gambiense infection : HAT Sero-strip & HAT Sero-K-SeT

01/2014

A new kit expands the cassette range : GastroVir K-SeT that detects two major viruses responsible for 50 to 70% of gastroenterological diseases: Rotavirus and Adenovirus – serotypes 40/41

04/2015

To face the growing problem of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, Coris BioConcept has developed a totally new family of tests under the brand name “RESIST”. Five different tests are part of this new project : OXA-48, KPC, NDM, VIM & IMP.

OXA-48 K-SeT and KPC K-SeT have already been developped !
