Specificity/Species identification
T. Cruzi strains from all 6 lineages (l, lla, llb, llc, lld, and lle) are detected.
The OligoC-TesT does not detect specifically L. donovani, M. tuberculosis, T.B. gambiense, S. mansoni and P. falciparum.
Detection of some T. rangeli strains but only at high concentration (corresponding to 10,000 to 1 million of parasites/ml).
Specificity & sensitivity
The specificity on 108 negative control patients is at 100%. The sensitivity on 33 T. cruzi infected human patients reached 94-100% and 100% on 27 T. cruzi infected vectors or animals.
